Forensic Auditing Training program for Auditors

Today, 11th of Mansir 2080 (27 November, 2023) Monday, Acting Auditor General Mr. Maheshwar Kafle inaugurated the training program related to Forensic Audit. The training program is related to the development of auditors' ability to investigate and detect fraud under the Institutional Reform Program of the Office of the Auditor General, which is run with the technical support of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and this training will help to prepare guidelines for the audit. The training program will be conducted for 5 days from 2080.8.11 to 15th. This training program was conducted as the first phase of technical assistance in institutional reform as part of the achievement of the bilateral talks with the IMF during the 24th Congress of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions held in Brazil in 2022. In this training, the trainer who came from the IMF headquarters is facilating the training.

Fund  Ms. Alice Flora, Mr. Wyane McElrath, Mr.  Kevin Hughes and  hoped that the relationship between the Supreme Audit Institution of Nepal and the International Monetary Fund will be further strengthened through this kind of program and wished the team a pleasant stay in Nepal. he expressed the highlighting the importance of the training program, 35 participants of different levels have been nominated from the office and the trainees have demonstrated the knowledge, skills and experience of the subjects they have learned to other employees of the office and reflection in the audit. The auditor's role in collecting, analyzing and verifying the authenticity of the facts related to the true and fair view of the financial statement and he also expressed his belief that the training program will prove to be a milestone in the capacity development of auditors as it is important.

Financial Sector Expert, Ms. Alice Flore who is as the main trainer from International Monetary Fund, highlighted the subject matter of the program and expressed the opinion that the training program will be effective because the opinions and suggestions from the group of experts regarding the determination of the training course, the training method and the expected results obtained from it and the role of OAGN on fight against the Fraud and Corruption through Forensic Audit will be ​​increased, she expressed.

Deputy Auditor General Mr. Bamdev Sharma Adhikari, Director Mr. Ramesh Subedi and others were presented in the training inauguration program.
